DeliGOOD CHICKEN LIVER is a good source of iron, vitamin A, and other nutrients. Chicken liver can be cooked in a variety of ways, such as pan-frying, sautéing, or grilling. It is often used in pâté, terrines, and other dishes.

Cleaning Chicken Livers

Rinse: Place the chicken livers in a colander and rinse them under cold running water to remove any blood and impurities.

Trim: Use a sharp knife to trim away any visible fat, connective tissue, or greenish parts (which can be bitter).

Soak (Optional): Some people prefer to soak the livers in milk for 30 minutes to an hour. This can help to mellow the flavor and remove any remaining impurities. After soaking, drain and pat them dry with paper towels.

Preparing Chicken Livers

Inspect: Check each liver for any remaining bits of fat or connective tissue and remove them.

Cut: Depending on your recipe, you may need to cut the livers into smaller pieces. For example, if you’re making a pâté, you might want to chop them finely, whereas for frying, you can leave them whole or in large chunks.

Season: Season the livers with salt, pepper, and any other spices or marinades as per your recipe.

Tips for Cooking

Don’t Overcook: Chicken livers cook quickly and can become tough if overcooked. Aim for a slightly pink center for the best texture and flavor.

Use High Heat: Whether you’re sautéing, frying, or grilling, using high heat helps to sear the outside while keeping the inside tender.
